French Embassy Welcomes New Cultural Counselor Antonin Baudry
We are pleased to announce the arrival of the French Embassy’s new Cultural Counselor Antonin Baudry who replace Kareen Rispal.

C’est la rentée scolaire! September means back to work, back to school, and here at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, it means more events and great new programs!
This ’back to school’ season we are very pleased to announce the opening of two new bilingual schools: The New American Academy and The French American Charter School. Each school offers an innovative approach to bilingual education. We support their initiatives and wish them great success in the coming school year!
If music was the highlight of July and August, this month it’s dance! Coast to coast many of France’s most innovative choreographers will be performing in US venues from mid-September through mid-October. The program offers an interesting look at important currents in contemporary French dance. It will be a rare opportunity to see many of these artists performing in the US, some for the first time ever.

In light of this occasion, the Arts Department of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy has chosen to launch its first edition of Dance Dialogues: Conversations between American and French Choreographers , featuring a series of published interviews between artists on both sides of the Atlantic. Later in the month they will be posted on our website. This is the first in a series of conversations that aim to highlight artistic and cultural exchanges.
Music will be back in the air by the end of the month in Los Angeles and San Francisco at Ooh la la! . The 2010 Edition of the Ooh la la! French Music Festival in California will feature a program of contemporary electronic music: Gotan Project, General Elektriks and El Hijo de la Cumbia in Los Angeles. September 30th through October 2nd and San Francisco for performances October 3rd.
