Chopin and Saint- Saëns, Pacific Chamber Symphony

Lawrence Kohl, Conductor. French pianist Denis Pascal joins PCS in doing a work by Frédéric Chopin, the composer who many proclaim wrote best for the piano: Concerto No. 2 in F minor.

Denis has eleven records to his credit earning rave reviews. “The excellent pianist Denis Pascal, very French in the best sense of the term, gave to the works of Debussy a magnificent expression and a vision perfectly mastered.” - Washington Post

Camille Saint-Saëns’s contribution to the symphonic form has multiple expressions of colors and power. His Symphony No. 2 in A minor travels through the dark beauty of the minor key to joyful rapture. This French masterpiece is not to be missed.
