Watch Bernard-Marie Koltès’s "Le Jour des meurtres dans l’histoire d’Hamlet" become "The Day of Murders in the History of Hamlet" at 7 Stages and Emory University
First of all, a very warm thank you to all of you — and there were many! — who attended our 2009 Atlanta Francophonie festival. This year’s celebration, which included our first ever Festival Francofilm at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema, our ’Phones, ’Philes, and Familles brunch, and a number of educational workshops, was a great success! Of course, the month of Francophonie is not the only opportunity to partake in French and Francophone cultural activities…
Theatrical performances, cinematic splendors, philosophical endeavors, vibrant colors splashed across canvases. The month of April entices with its rich palette of cultural events. In Alabama this month, The Three Musketeers takes center stage at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. In Atlanta, don’t miss the premiere a new translation of Bernard-Marie Koltès’s The Day of Murders in the History of Hamlet, to be read at 7 Stages, The High Museum’s French Film Yesterday and Today, and Georgia Tech’s free French Film Festival. In Tennessee, check back for updates regarding the cross-cultural, collaborative art project Born Under a Bad Sign, to be announced soon. Take a look at our cultural calendar for the full spectrum of events: CULTURAL AGENDA-APRIL 2009!
Best regards,
