Famous French Author Philippe Grimbert will be in New York from Friday, September 12 to Tuesday, September 16, on the occasion of the release of A Secret, the striking film adaptation of his prize-winning European bestseller Memory ("Un Secret"). A unique opportunity to meet the writer!

Novelist and essayist Philippe Grimbert was born in 1948 in Paris. He is a psychoanalyst, and lives in Paris. He is the author of several works of nonfiction: Psychanalyse de la chanson (Les Belles Lettres, 1996), Pas de fumée sans Freud (Armand Colin, 1999; Hachette Littérature, 2001) and Chantons sous la psy (Hachette Littérature, 2002). His first novel, La Petite Robe de Paul, was published by Grasset in 2001.

Memory is Philippe Grimbert’s first book to be translated into English. The book was originally published as Secret in the United Kingdom (Portobello Books, March 2007). It will be released by Simon and Schuster during the winter 2008. The book was adapted by the French filmmaker Claude Miller in a film titled Un Secret (2007) with Cécile de France and Patrick Bruel.


Philippe Grimbert is tour thanks to the program ’French Authors on Tour’ of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
