French films at Pacific Film Archives
"The Long View: A Celebration of Widescreen" will run from July 16 to August 30. The summer-long series includes Westerns, melodramas, thrillers, musicals, and science fiction, and ranges from nascent explorations to classic bigger-than-life productions. Among other widescreen masterpieces presented are Godard’s Pierrot le Fou , Alain Resnais’ Last Year at Marienbad and the Truffaut’s 400 Blows

"Streets of No Return: The Dark Cinema of David Goodis" will run from August 1-23. A retrospective honoring American pulp writer David Goodis through films like François Truffaut’s Shoot the Piano Player , or Moon in the Gutter .
