Florida counts more than sixty film festivals, a dozen of which show foreign films. Most festivals take place in the winter ’tourist’ season; there is one festival, however, that is exceptionally programmed in the summer and that is the Perrier French Film Festival.

The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival invites you to take a journey to France, at Cinema Paradiso, with its 7TH Annual Perrier French Film Festival from July 24 to July 27, 2008. Perrier French Film Festival will present some of the top new films from the country and include some popular classics as well: Deux vies plus d’une by Idit Cebula (2007), Les Randonneurs de St Tropez by Philippe Harel (2008), 15 ans et demi by François Desagnat and Thomas Sorriaux (2008), Le Fils de l’Epicier by Eric Guirado (2007), Le Chat et la Souris by Claude Lelouch (1975), Jacques Brel is alive and well by Denis Héroux (1975), Passe Passe by Tonie Marshall (2008), 18 ans après by Coline Serreau (2003).

Greg von Hausch, President and CEO of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF), began the French Film Festival seven years ago, because of his passion for French Film and the ability through Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival’s relationship with Cannes Film Festival where FLIFF has held an annual Beach Party since 1991. FLIFF produces the French Film Festival each year. Perrier was the initial sponsors of the French Film Festival seven years ago. Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) has kept the name though Perrier’s involvement has evolved over the years from a cash sponsor to a product sponsor. Elliot Canter, a member and one of the leading FLIFF and Cinema Paradiso patrons, has become a major sponsor of the Perrier French Film Festival and other films during the annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, now in its 23rd year. The 2008 annual month-long cinematic event will be held October 17 - November 9.
